Barefoot and Smoking - Sarah Sitkin in Her Studio (LA Artist Documentary Project)

Sarah Sitkin Hall opens its doors with a big, inviting smile. She is wearing her reading glasses and a handkerchief over her short hair, stretch pants, a T-shirt and flip-flops. She looks quite remarkable and inspiring. Prior to her living room and studio, the dark blue sky holds the silence of the night on Monday with the release of the sums of the highway, in which the artist lived. Inside the door, it's an incredible presence, and it is the life of Sarah Sitkin.

It is a wall and a beautiful jumble of cameras, fake pony, artificial body parts and costumes. Sarah makes many of their props and clothing, she pins a fossilized fish, the reverse a self-made dress which she pulls over her head. She builds her room and we talk.

can not in her studio to cook or do laundry, but she can pretty much anything she wants. You can break the things that fill the room with naked bodies, people will be covered in mustard, smoking like a chimney, or slosh the floor with buckets of paint. There are no creative boundaries in the domain Sarah's.

The artist tinkers on the accordion, they found. We talk about how they can not dream yourself. Sarah's art appears from an ongoing desire to create surreal, coming from the banal. The mundane, the bizarre. In her words, it is a "conveyor belt" and it is "instinctive." You have to do it. You need to continue the construction and demolition of the dream landscape of LA, that she lives, that is their psyche, and that they can not access when she is asleep.

She loves the Valley, the electronic scrap yard and her family owned shop, stores and distributes all kinds of useful junk, glitter, fake models and crafts. Give her a dumpster, and they will gather his treasures.

But there is nothing typical about this junkyard divers. It is not a hipster, it is not a child of the Academy of Art. It is not new in this city of angels. Sarah created by LA as her home, as the place that her family keeps the story. But there is always something new here for them always discover something.

Ringmaster carnival and a variety of participants, she loves the artists she works with, she celebrates her community, and you can see the joy in this artist's eyes. When she eats at night, Top Ramen, it does not take her jade. Sarah Sitkin artistic voice is loud and strong and unfettered.

The LA-Artist Documentary Project (http://www.la-artist.com) is dedicated to the people working creatively in and around Los Angeles. The series aims to document LA's artistic diversity by producing a range of informative films exposing the city's eclectic creative framework.

The crux of the online series will be an introduction into the creative lives of a selection of artists. Director and producer, Oliver Shipley, wants to focus on documenting the creative process as well as the ideologies influencing these artists in a city where its often hard to get a break in the art world.

Artists will be selected from all over the city to represent their area of creative expression. Photography, fine art, sand sculpture, graffiti, performance and murals are just a few of the disciplines that will be documented.

The project, as a whole, is looking to uncover Los Angeles' artistic diversity, processes, influences and draw attention to everyday artistic talents.
