5 Ways We're Treating Children Like Adults

People say they want children to be children. But our actions speak louder than words.

Here are 5 ways children are urged to behave like little adults way too early in their lives:

(1) Stuck inside: Remember when our parents would tell us to go outside and play? Many children play inside in these days of fear, laziness or excuses caretaker (ie too much, otherwise occupied, too messy, not furnished). But children must play for a healthy development. You also need them to get in contact with nature, if we want it about them that they need to interact with it!

(2) Going to the gym: The message has recently shown a new trend. Children are "Pumping Iron", instead of participating in more "kid-friendly" activities such as martial arts, gymnastics and ballet! In fact, last year, 1.3 million children aged 6 through 11 were members of a health club (IHRSA). Whatever happens, monkey bars, cycling and swimming? You should not feel worried about that at the time these children feel that they "must" go to the gym (as adults), they become bored doing it!

(3) Medicated: The AAP has now begun recommend statins, and traditional medicines for adults, for children aged 8 years in order to reduce cholesterol. Experts tell us that this can be very dangerous. In addition, we are setting up children are on these drugs for life. There is another pill quick solution pooping in a fast-paced world.

(4) Waxed: This will probably angry or at least cause you to shake his head. Parents are their children to get "waxed" just like mom. Some of the children are in the age of 6. Salons are the elimination of so-called "virgin hair from their legs, arm pits, or other areas. The trend is increasingly common. In fact, the International Spa Association says that more than half of the 14,000 spas in the United States offer packages for families, young people or children.

(5) overfed: You could them Kid's Meals, but they are all than others. Studies show that the majority of the children's menus st fast-food restaurant chains are too high in calories, fat and sodium for children. Some meals can pack more than 70% of a child's daily calories in a meal!

So we are truly the children to children? They are the judges. Seems to me that we are in the wrong direction and fast.

It also offers enough selection that you can change the format each time the activity is played. Best of all, your child will love to show their skills at every step. Wood Carving - How to Choose the Right Tools

If you go to a wood carver and not just a Whittle, you need to create a series of tools. There is simply no way around it. So what are the right tools for wood carving?

Tools for sharpening. Before the carving tools, it seems appropriate that the tools for sharpening it should come first. After all, if they are not sharp, what the use? They drive themselves mad.

At the very minimum you should use a sharpening stone and subtract. The sharpening stone is used for sharpening your edges. Many sharpening stones come in various forms and in different Graen. Some are very capacity to the typically short blade lengths of wood carving blade edges. There are diamond-coated slips tones that work very well to sharpen an edge. Some may even sharpening stones on a keychain or as small as a credit card. Convenient.

A deduct so much, to the Burr and all micro-bits still sticking to your well-sharpened blade edge. This is very important in wood carving. If something still clings to the edge, it is really on your progress. You have to everything. If you prefer, you can create a connection or a honing honing board to straighten your edges.

If you're really serious about a wood carver, it is strongly recommended that you learn how to sharpen a knife and subtract. Once you've learned that you are also able to sharpen most other carving edges. The need for a smooth sharp edges is a constant in wood carving. If you can achieve, you are worlds before kidding.

Tools No Rest for shaping. Any kind of carving tool that is meant to shape wood has a specific function. At the very minimum, you should carving knife, wood chisel, wood Gouges, wood rasps and Riffler, a sledgehammer and perhaps even a power drill.

carving knife. This is your basic all-carving tools, and there are many types. There are straight edges, knives, knives oblique, curved knife, chip knives, knives detail, special pocketknife modified for carving and folding knives with blades locked. And these are not all of them. There are even micro-knife or micro-tool kit if you like.

It 's a question of functionality. Each edge is certain. If you have learned what every kind of knife can do, and you have the carving project before you, then you will know what knives are best for this job. The best knife for a specific task May not be the same knife, which is best for another. That's why you have choices.

wood chisel. Most chisels are ground on both sides, but it is possible, with a bevel on only one side. The head can be tilted or square in shape. They can also be bent forward or backward. They have a whole timber selection.

Gouges. This is one of the most commonly used tools in wood carving. There are many forms and Graen. Some are very short and stout, while others opted for a few customs with a longer blade edge. You will probably end with several types. That is no problem. Surely, you use each one at a certain time or another.

Riffler wood rasps or files. Shopping for these instruments could be a bit confusing. Really. Some stores call it a rasp, others call it a Riffler. And still another, there will be a rasp Riffler. As you know, as you know. Well, the majority of dealers seem to agree that a rasp is a very rough, straight file. The tool itself can be thick and rectangular like a sharpening file, but do not be surprised to find those who are slim with a curved head that looks like a riffler.

Rifflers, on the other hand, are generally slender with a curved head . Many times these people are bent on both ends of the Riffler. You can also find kits that offer various shaped heads and at different sizes.

mallets. This small hammers are of inestimable value in the right circumstance. They are a must for chip carving, relief carving and engraving carving. (What can I say?) Mallets are a must for all wood carving. You may need only a few millimeters from here and no more, maybe a little notch there, a dash here, perhaps creating a shadow. It really is like a valuable tool.

Power Tools. There are some pretty nice power tools for wood carving. There are power drills, burrs rotor saw, chisel and power mini-mills. You can even power-carving kits. There's even a wood carver set, the selection of its own power grinders.

These tools are quite extraordinary how much time and effort they can save on wood carvers. Many consider it only for life-Size or extremely large carvings. It's all up to the carvers. Hey, how about a carving created entirely by electric power tools? (... Ask me how great that would be.)

Tools for sanding and smoothing. When all the woodcarving and the design is done, you will want to sand and smooth surfaces. This is an important step that, before any paint or coating. In doing so, remove all vestiges of an earlier finishing process and you will also have the wood on the bond markets with a non-penetrating chemicals. Grinding with sand paper, sanding or grinding clothing sticks.

grinding is often using sandpaper. There are many qualities of a very, very rough to very, very good. There is a choice. Something very similar, that is the defuzzing pad. It is as it sounds. It removes all the fuzz still clinging to the wood grinding surface.

There are clothes that are in a role and are in various stages Graen K. May be cut from the roll and rolled or folded, as you want. Best thing is you do not need to worry about cracking or falling apart you.

grinding sticks May, to varying K-Graen. You can also stick grinding or sanding kits detail kits, which remove adhesive or minutes after the remains of your finishing products. Mini-belt loops and Stick-slip tapes can be used for large grinding jobs.

Wood carving is an amazing craft to develop. They can only be a handful of tools and working with small projects. Or you could use a lot of tools, including power tools, working on really big projects. Either way, it is very relaxing, often exciting and extremely satisfying. Have fun!

Magic Tricks For Kids - 4 Things You Must Do When Performing For Kids

How would you like to have every child in the audience laugh and enjoy themselves? How would you like parents, or whoever the setting is so impressed they hire you come back next year and run? You can create a successful show and repeat performance when you are my four tips for doing magic for kids.

Kids are in a world of their own. To succeed with them, you must forget all sleight you learned. All these funny punchlines that worked great for adults is not to children. Children do not want to see all your Hocus Pocus miracles, they just want to be entertained. In this spirit, here is a list of things you need to do to a successful children's magic show.

1. Audience participation is a must

Children love to be part of the show. You almost every trick. There are two types of audience participation. Bring a child from the audience to help with a trick or ask the audience to stay in their seats and screaming from the participation of magic words, etc.

2. Use a magic word

Children always love to believe that they are creating magic through the use of a magic word. Now you should not use any word. Most magicians use "Hocus Pocus" or "abracadabra". I've found more success with just some random crazy word, like "Penguin" or "I love turtles." Most everyone expects a magical nature of the formulation, so when you blurt out a random word or phrase, it starts from him or her watch. Children love stupid and it is always good for a laugh.

I also recommend your sponsor's name as the magic word. Because they are paying your salary. Another great words to use as the magic word is "Happy Birthday ______". You add the birthday boy or girl name in the blank.

3. Forget the adults

At many parties, where I performed, there were also a lot of adults. Sometimes almost three to one. Please note there is to do magic tricks for children, not adults. So forget about it and concentrate on the children.

4. Use a lot of visual gags

children love this more than the Hocus Pocus. Can you with a shoe untied. They travel on the loose laces. As you bend over to tie shoelaces you hear a ripping sound great and everyone thinks your ripped pants (laughter here). You stand up and try to look at your comic behind (more laughter). Just do gag after gag is the children laugh. Be sure to sprinkle some magic tricks for children too.

Just application of these four rules when doing magic tricks for children, will ensure that everyone has fun. After all, is not that the goal? Time for parents to relax and for the children to entertain. So do not worry about all the lust Mumbo Jumbo, get out there and have only fun.

Traditional Rummy - Basic Strategy

Traditional Rummy (also known as Rummy, Rummy regular, straight Rummy, basic or standard Rummy Rummy) can also be one of the most widely accepted card game Rummy. Rummy traditional demands innovative competence and excellent memory and, of course, is a not an easy game to adopt.

Beginners should remember these steps and apply them to further their caution, and also taking into account the exact circumstances that they are dealing with.

The beginners must also bear in mind that the goal of this card is to be the first to have all the cards. And more that while playing traditional Rummy, beginners should be their proper attention in the drawing cards right, as in this deck, it is necessary to develop these skills. Drawing the right cards ultimately decide the result game.

While of drawing a map at the beginning of the traditional Rummy game, it is desirable that beginners should choose a card from the stock instead of the discard pile. And after the first pull, which even beginners should ordnungsgema on melding; for training and discard, so that he can easily get rid of his cards.

The basic traditional Rummy game strategy notes that a novice should be to ensure the cards that his opponent is holding in his hand. He must also know what kind of equipment and requires the defendant actually in the build.

This is no easy task, as in the traditional Rummy beginners must clearly see that the cards of the opponent plays and remember the cards in the discard pile. If he can with the opponent's cards he can confirm a better position to discard that the cards at all will not help the opponents player.

On the contrary, the novice must be cautious about his own hand while playing a traditional Rummy, it is equally important that the defendant should not be able to confirm the beginner hand. He must play so that he can deceive his opponents from knowing his hand.

In common, it sounds more healthy in discarding highly rated cards in the traditional Rummy. But the novice once again have to recognize that with all means, the opponent players should not take advantage of this high cards.

While play traditional Rummy beginners also need the basic knowledge to understand the strategic value of the cards. For example, the average maps confirm more strategic value in comparison to other low or high cards. In traditional Rummy has a beginner with a lot of practice, inventive skills and extraordinary memory. As in traditional Rummy such entanglements are the most important

Is Art a Gift, Or Brain Damage?

Call it the parietal paradox ": patients with a variant of frontotemporal dementia, in which selective involvement of the left anterior temporal lobe, was detected exhibition suddenly the ability to amazing works of art, if not talent or even interest was documented. In other cases, experienced artists to produce images that are so striking as everything else in their entire body of work. ~ Fred Balzac

Recently on one of the TV magazines I saw a function that related brain damage (stroke) to personality changes that an unleashing of compulsive creativity. These phenomena triggered my reading and reading that the premise that the TV show. It made me wonder. It made me wonder about myself.

I am not a well-known artists. Some people call what I am doing a hobby . For me the art (poetry, the doll making, journaling, blogging, jewelry making, paper making, the novels, and all the creative things I do) is not a hobby . I feel insulted, if what I do as hobby . During May, I lack talent, and I'm vain by most measuring sticks on the ground, I think of myself as an artist. What I ask right now is the reason why. Why can I create? Why someone create? Why is my art so constantly on my head? I do not have a stroke. I'm not on any brain damage. It is entirely possible that I have some birth-defect brain has changed, that my left anterior temporal lobe, but if so, I do not know anything about that.

I remember once, in a group meeting with Lili Parish, my shrink /friend, someone in the group implied that my ability to paint pictures and write poems were "gifts". The proposal was made that some people have the gift, people and not others. I argued about this train from thought.

What I believe is that if you had so many images as I have, you would be at least as good an artist as I am, and you would probably be better. I'm not sure how many small cartoons, paintings and heavy I have done, but I would appreciate it is in the thousands. I've been drawing before I started school. Instead attention in class, I was on my notebook paper. I draw and write every day and have missed days with my art only after an operation or if overwhelmed by my daily life [as the days I spent moving to Oklahoma City from Lakeland, Florida.] In a similar way, like a child I showed zero athletic ability. I could not throw a football. I knew the guys could throw like a pro, but it was a "gift" I did not seem to have. Of course the good guys in throwing footballs have been tossing a ball around They years.

The more for doing what you do, the better you will do what you do. This was my explanation for what I did capacities, as well as the abilities of other people have, that I was not the case. I'm terrible at playing the sitar. Ravi Shankar have is a gift that I have been refused, or was he a gifted sitar player, because he spent his life playing the sitar, while I have never actually seen a person?

This logic goes a long way to explain talent, at least in my opinion. The Renaissance in Italy they do not have a lot of great ball players in history, but their culture does not care that much about a child's ability to throw. In Renaissance Italy they support the arts. So if a child was drawing on the wall, and when passing some adults found the drawing and said it looked good [for a child this age], that child would be encouraged to do more of this activity. The more the child will be promoted, praised, and called on, the more they will do whatever this positive feedback, and finally they have an artistic gift. In the 1940's, when a small child threw a rock, and it went further than a temporary adults was normal that a child that age, they would immediately think: "Baseball!"

Another behaviourist shrink /friend of mine, named James Cail, use to say, "People do what they are paid to do." What he meant by that is that you certainly can be paid with money, or just positive feedback, but if it is something from the activities they will do that activity. Vincent van Gogh. just sold a painting in his life, but that does not mean that he does not pay. There were people in his life that admires and supports and encourages his artistic activities.

But perhaps, just get positive feedback, and spending your life doing a special artistic activity is not the answer. The people on that TV show, the beatings started doing art compulsively and had no life to practice that art. She had only to suddenly artists. Their ability can be called into question. Some of the work seemed especially primitive, but then no more primitive than modern art from a hundred other accepted and admired artists.

Could it be that creativity is always linked to a certain character of the brain or stroke victims, these were only one artist Aberration, and that artistic talent is generally, and especially often the result of the ole "Practice makes perfect" kind of stuff?

Here is what I think. I would like to believe that artistic ability is not a gift. Because that is what I want to believe, I look for quotes and information, supports that view.

Why do I want to believe that artistic ability is not a gift? Because I do not feel gifted. Is it a gift, then it is possible that I will not get the gift, or that the Size of my gift is small. If art is a gift I am, that the truth. If artistic ability is developed, then there are no limits on what I could achieve artistically. Not only can I go as far as I choose to go with my art, but it would be equally true for you. Anyone and everyone could do what they wanted if they only her spirit is, they work for art, and get their interest, motivation, and while it can hardly practice.

So cracks in the brain, which can contribute to a creativity Compulsion, I still lean to the POV that artistic skills developed through the creation art.

Abstract Art and Oil Painting Reproductions

Abstract Art is an artistic representation of a subject or feeling rather than an exact image. If you want a flower that looks like a flower or a house that looks like a house, then abstract art is probably nothing for you. Abstract art is all about expression of feelings, moods and perceptions of colors and /or various forms. Some works of abstract art are very complicated and very detailed while others simple.

Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, and neo-plasticism are three major categories of abstract art. Let's take a look at the origins of this interesting art form, so we can better understand how it came to be.

Cubism was an avant-garde movement pioneered around 1907 by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Real subjects and objects were broken apart and re-assembled from many different angles, in an abstract form. This dissection of a subject and bring them back together Cubism is the most notable characteristic.

The form of abstract art known as neo-plasticism, was a Dutch movement that began in the late 1910's. Neo-plasticism based on the premise that art should not interfere with the reproduction of real objects, but rather the expression of "absolute" of life. This form of abstract art followed the reasoning that an artist should create only with lines and colors rather than realistic themes. The movement of abstract art simplified issues of vertical and horizontal direction and are used only primary colors, along with black and white. Two of the early founders of the neo-plasticism movement Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondrian.

Abstract Expressionism was an American, post-World War II art movement. Jackson Pollock is just one of the artists contributed to this art form to life. With this art form the artist paint applied quickly to a very large canvas, either with a brush or literally throw color of the canvas. What proved to be an accident and completely random, it was very planned. The method of expressive painting was often as important as the actual painting. This form of abstract art is characterized by a spirit of revolt and a core belief in the freedom of expression.

Another form of abstract art is conceptual art. Basically, conceptual art is that a concept. An artist needs an idea and creating a work of art based on their interpretation or concept, but as to the traditional way a painting or a sculpture is usually done. Conceptual artists their idea or concept, as the focal point, instead of the object they depicting.

Many other artists have contributed to the development of abstract art. Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miro and Paul Klee are only a few of the 20000 plus known abstract artists. With so many artists contribute to the development of abstract art, it's no wonder there are so many different forms and interpretations of abstract art in existence.

Today Artists are still very much to create unique works of abstract art. Abstract art did not appeal to all art lovers. Some art lovers have real objects depicted in almost photographic detail to enjoy. Other fully enjoy the emotional, impulsive and spontaneous expression, in the abstract art.

I understood it was 13 years and they might have gotten eliminated, but it was a project that I wanted with her, that in all of the institution in this great house with a little doll and what they can say their grandmother and her together have. I smiled, thinking about the time we've given it a Barbie Jeep for its 5th Birthday and how she was tearing around the yard, their great grandfather stood outside smiling and watch her play. Suddenly she went to her great grandfather right to full and stopped the customs of his legs, boy, he turned white, and then giggled and said Poppo Hi! We all laughed so hard that tears came from our eyes. I knew then she was just like me, a little speed demon! I remember the terrible day, cat had attacked, they had so many tricks in the beautiful face. When I saw her after all the agony, they told me that they do not cry and she was a big girl. I remember as if they are at the weekend at my place in the mountains and play in the old fort that the children that use to live built. We had so much fun and we were so close back then!

Then the last time I saw her until today was 13 years old when my son was in a bad wreck and I asked her mother to please bring her to see my son. I did not know that it would be the last hug and kiss I would for all the years. Today is a new day and I do not know what to do! Should I hug them and then give him a big kiss? Should I just wait and see if they want to embrace? I have seen pictures of her boys and she is beautiful! But that shows me not only their beauty, it is. I have long for this moment! What is your favorite color, what do you want in life, Do you remember everything that we use to do, and Do you remember me?

My son was already at the place we met. I am finally here, but with a tough time looking for him. You see my son race cars as a hobby and has its own mechanics. So we all thought we would be able to meet where we all enjoy the fresh air. OK, I found him, darn it is not yet, but is on the way. My son has 2 boys and they are there to her older sister and are very excited.

He just the conversation and told me to follow him down to meet them at the gate. I followed and was on the lookout and I believe what I say, first? Then she started my eye! I knew it was her! My son said stay here at the gate, and I will get it. I waited and she came to me and hugged her father, then he said to her, I have a surprise. She looked at him, smiled and said, Papa? He then turned around and said your grandmother. I held my arms and tears flowed, they looked at me and ran into my arms and we both said how much we missed each other. We could not stop crying and hugging all my thoughts disappeared, and all I could think was their possession and say how much I love her and how happy my heart was that we saw each other once boys were again.

The so excited, she could not wait where we were all gathered. They came down to us half way and ran to Papa, the oldest boy went up to her and said, "so you are my sister huh? They are cute. My son was then the boys to her. The smallest went to her and said please.

For embrace the rest of the day we were all so great, smiling and tears of joy came from nothing. All of us know and we're happy that our oldest is now home! I also look forward to the furnishing doll house with her, she kept it after all these years! Welcome home!

Magical, Mystical Halloween

If You wonder about the origins of Halloween, you can determine that there are many different stories and origins, as the holiday started. Some say it is a day of Satan, or the worship of evil spirits and the practice of witchcraft, which they believe is Druid religion. There are other, think it was a day for the spirits of the dead to come back and look at the results to humans had done, they wrong.

A few stories were told about the ghosts of the past away the years before this night and they came back in search of living bodies to possess, in the hope of a life after death. I've heard that I myself was a Halloween European custom called All Souls Day, where early Christians would travel to villages to collect and cake for each cake, which they collected, they would say a prayer for the patrons lost loved ones. They believed this would help, ask the souls in heaven.

There is the magic of the Jack-O-Lantern, where the flame, in the knowledge of the fear away evil they fear that to do so. The ghosts, goblins and witches that most people associate with bad were actually intended to frighten than those the

Evil spirits away. They were of the view that with the people on the eve of the new year, while people also wore masks and celebrated. When I took from a magical and mystical Halloween, I think, some ghosts and goblins, but I also think of fairies and pixies in a glen dancing, singing and glowing in the moonlight! Spreitendes their wings in the fresh night air, afraid of nothing! Roaming in their country to play small tricks on them all. I am thinking of the elves play their music with flutes and drums in the middle of a current glen.

The Halloween, that we now celebrate, is a mixture of old traditions combine together over the years. The majority of people in the here and now not associate the old beliefs with Halloween. We still think ghosts and goblins and witches, but generally we do not associate with Satan Halloween. We are concerned about what kind of costumes are our children to choose, and if we have to make them.

We buy or federal government, where exactly what they want or what we need to make the costumes they have in common their extreme views best. In general, a large number of children do not really like to dress up in scary costumes. There are so many characters and caricatures Storybook fictional characters or characters of films that children do not even want to think about the part it.

Today scary in today's time, if you think or say, Halloween and the first thing appears, Most of that, in adults and children's heads, Saigkeiten, and then I would say, pumpkins. Children think, play and fun at parties in a cool costume, that, once a year. After pondering the old traditions of Halloween, I do not see much magic, mystical, or the evil in this special holiday. I see it as an opportunity for children to so something for a whole day that they dream run all year, or when they grow up. You get to take home a large bag with Saigkeiten and carve faces in pumpkins. We as adults really do not explain the original meaning of Halloween to them because we do not celebrate it in the same way as the old people, because of our beliefs changing.

Air Supply Love Zone Tour '07/'08 Continues In Springfield, Ohio 3/10/07

For the second time in my life, I could see Air Supply in a large, non-casino venue. The first time was outdoors in Arizona in 1981, when I was a young teenager and the second time was last Saturday night in the CSCC Performing Arts Center in Springfield, Ohio.

An hour drive from Columbus, Springfield, at first glance a quiet, Verschlafene city in the middle of nowhere. But as I drove downtown to my hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to see a center with buildings dedicated to art and historical monuments. I could not help but feel that the city was in contact with his love for community and education. It should come as no surprise then that patronage for the Performing Arts Center begrate Air Supply Center with an open arms.

The was quite large, can easily accommodate, operas, plays and other musical performers. The stage was immense, and the curtains must have been at least 35 meters high. At first glance, I knew that this would be an incredible place for Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, to this audience some of these magical 80s, I experienced when I was 12.

Opening the show, Graham was seen as "opening act" for Air Supply. He told the audience that he would be performing three songs from his upcoming CD, "The Future", and hope that we all liked the songs. Having recently had the privilege of hearing Graham these three songs in Las Vegas, I can tell you that it sounds better and better with each performance. Maybe Graham will always be more comfortable with the live performances. Who's to know? What I can say is that every song is a testament to Graham's genius as a songwriter and singer. The audience seemed to really appreciate the art of "The Future", "Make You Mine" and "Leather & Lace" and I can not imagine a better place in which to showcase Graham's new works.

Finishing his three songs, Graham left and quickly returned to the stage, the curtain opened and Russell, Jed Moss, Jonni Lightfoot, and Mike Zerbe took their seats for the new power opener, "Even the nights are better." After spied the list shortly before the show, I knew we were for a full concert. It was refreshing to be in a venue where the band not to reduce the time constraints.

songs from "Just as I am", "A Little Bit Of Everything" and "here I am" were each beautifully sung, as usual . Added back into the timetable was "opportunities", as Graham and spoke to the audience only, he joked that the King and Queen of Springfield, together with the royal family in the audience. I will admit that I at first perplexed by this comment, but later realized he spoke to the patrons on the balcony to see the boxes below. Pretty funny!

After "Opportunities", was "Faith in Love" and then "The River /Sweet Dreams". Unfortunately, due to an audio edition, "The River /Sweet Dreams" was cut and a 10-minute break was announced. The audience appreciate the break and when we milled about, I heard very positive assessments of the sponsors with not a comment on the break or the song is reduced. I do not think they even noticed.

The show once with the band solo. What a treat to hear Jed sing the first two verses of "Live and Let Die". Jonni joined in the third verse (they sing). It is nice to see them Mix a little. I guess you never know what to expect in an Air Supply concert!

Graham and Russell returned and introduced "Less Two lonely people in the world". She spoke of how they used to in pizza parlours and never paid. And one thing that came from this experience is that they now hate pizza! But even better, now they will be paid! Russell Graham also interrupted when he mentioned how they met on the first day of rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar in 1975. Russell held his hand and sang quietly, "Jesus Christ Superstar ..." I think he had hoped that someone would be with him in the next verse, but not a look from the audience! Graham then said that Russell would tell us what they would be in addition to singing, and Russell quickly blurted out, "Two less lonely people ... In The World", as Graham had already started to play it.

"The One That You Love "and came alongside Russell and Graham ventured into the large audience. Graham has remained mostly near the front, but Russell was the whole theatre. And the fans were L-O-V-I-N-G, and him! Normally, audience members are quiet and respectful as Russell and Graham out into the audience, but this night the audience was a little on the Wild Side. What can I say? They were loving their Air Supply!

"Lost in Love" was next, followed by "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All". It was a fantastic show, and a great theater for this performance.

The Meet & Greet line was long and lasted probably a good 90 minutes. All were tired, but they have a few photos here and there. Here is my favorite part of the Meet & Greet is that all of the fans get the opportunity to Graham, Russell, Jed, Jonni and Mike. To see the joy on their faces, and the sparkles and tears in their eyes as they are able to meet, hug and say this really amazing talented and generous men, is simply priceless. I would forgo any opportunity to get to this line when they are in a position to witness the love that fills the hearts of all, as they say Thank you and good night.

Again, thanks to the hard-working and dedicated crew that all they do to the shows and an unforgettable feast for the eyes and ears. Thanks to Graham, Russell, Jed, Jonni and Mike for another fantastic show.

See if you can remember ... Playing with jarts (the deadly version of lawn darts); Coca Cola in a bottle, in a position to leave the house by 9 clock, pack a lunch, put him in the basket of the bike not return home until the burglary Darkness, and you were 10 years old, with neighborhood games outside all day and all night (flashlight day, kick the can, red Rover, cops and robbers, kick ball, and each version of the game-running-screaming attack and MonoTracer strongly annoyed); feeling "in style" wearing Jordache, Gloria Vanderbilt, and hang ten, the endless hours in front of the TV to play the computer game "Pong" .

Our generation has been "X". Half of us grew up with mothers at home and half of the mothers worked with us that outside of the house. We were in a stage of transition, the period defined interesting that a break-out from the traditional role of the June Cleaver "I am woman, hear me roar" or "I can do it all, just watch me."

I grew up with the philosophy that a great education and career was the equivalent to success, so I have been the epitome of a working document mom the majority of my adult life. All You Need to Know About NYC Fashion

You almost can not discuss the Big Apple without at least touching in NYC fashion, although Paris May always been the centre of the fashion world, Manhattan's Garment District has long been home to some of the top addresses in NYC fashion.

In fact, NYC Fashion practically sets the tone for the rest of the country and contributes around 14 billion dollars for the local economy each year. The garment Distric is still home to the legendary and influential personalities in NYC fashion including Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein and Liz Claiborne. Despite the fact that most of the actual production was shipped to China, Indonesia and Pakistan (which led to an alarming decline in the quality of assembly and materials), the trend-setting designs still emmanate of Manhattan's fashion district.

The NYC NYC Fashion District had some dubious origins during the first half of the 19th Century, it was a centre for the manufacture of clothing worn by black slaves on plantations in the south. This, owned slaves found it was more economical than buying clothes, their slaves make their own - that is what most average Americans have before 1820.

Before this time only the weathy could afford to have ready-made garments. Industrialization, the invention of sewing machines and economies of scale began to change in the years to the American Civil War. Before long, Schneider produced in Manhattan finished clothing, was increasingly affordable for the average working time Americans.

An wealth of federal contracts for uniforms during the Civil War to a boom in Manhattan's Garment District. By 1870 more Americans wore clothes purchased in the General Store, as their sewing own.

The fact that NYC Fashion has been prominent, but because of the influx of immigrants from Germany, Russia, Austria, Hungary and other European countries, had experience both in the business-end and /or the production of clothing.

The history of the NYC Fashion is also a trade union and violence. Most garment workers during the decades on either side of 1900 worked in appalling conditions; attempts to unionize were met with stiff penalties from the administration, supported by the local government. By 1920, the United Hebrew Trades Union, having nowhere else to turn, went to the bosses of organised crime. A prominent leader in what is essentially the "Jewish Mafia" was Dutch Schultz; part of this colorful, but ultimately tragic chapter of the NYC fashion was the inspiration for a novel by Harry Grey entitled The masks, that was the basis of the 1983 Serge Leone film Once Upon a Time in America.

Ultimately, garment trade union association with organised crime was almost the undoing of the NYC fashion industry. Between 1957, when crime boss Carlo Gambino virtually took over the garment district, until the early 1990s, Monster siphoned off tens of millions of dollars per year. This was one of the main causes for a large part of the removal of manufacturing to overseas factories in the last twenty years.

Today, the city of New York is the heroric efforts to revive the NYC fashion industry in terms of production and design as well as preserve his colorful and fascinating history. One advantage that Manhattan's garment district, has prepared its access to several railway terminals, including Penn Station and Grand Central; coming decades may still see the revitalization of NYC fashion production and design. Meanwhile NYC fashion the rich heritage is celebrated with a Walk of Fame along 7th Avenue, and a bronze statue of the unsung heroes of NYC fashion - the garment worker.

In Praise of Paris Hilton - the Next Oprah?

Oh my God is everywhere On every TV station in every magazine, on the Internet, in bookstores, shopping malls, I even believe I saw her face recently on the bus, if I am not wrong

Paris Hilton

a phenomenon that a case of marketing magic, and it should be discussed in all business and marketing schools across the land.

What an interesting thing, if 1) you know you've seen the face of a blonde woman on the side of a public bus while driving at 60 miles per hour, 2) you are not sure whose face that may be, but 3) you still have the feeling that it could have been nothing more than Paris Hilton!

That marketing, friends. That is positioning and branding par excellence.

You must not young or old, cool or clueless, rich or poor, the new American icon that Paris Hilton is obvious in the sheer determination and carefully maintained Shy-blonde-next-door persona.

She is just shopping, doing nothing else and we see how it (some of us the whole day, actually) .

It argues with her sister and we are reading the data of the next day.

She breaks with her Freund yes, I am sure thousands are heart feeling as well.

We live vicariously through Paris, while most of us do think it is another rich and pampered celebrity, and this one was born with a silver spoon in their mouth , And nothing special to notice or recognize, perhaps even another variant-of-the-day pop articles, the impact away.

But I have the feeling that Paris Hilton might turn out that more than that.

The girls, once from the waves to starring in the kind of low-budget flicks that you do not show that your child is now slowly insinuating their way into our homes, roads and in what we read and watch and hear.

This is nothing less than a "cultural invasion" on a scale matched and perhaps only superseded by the other True American Popular Culture symbol of our time - the only Oprah!

On note that I still ask whether Paris and their agents and managers have the sagacity to reposition her career to her in the "friend of the masses" number, Oprah is.

Somehow we believe that Oprah is "One Of Us ", even if it makes one hundred million U.S. dollars per year. That is their great achievement and legacy that can not be taken away.

So far Paris Hilton is still "the others."

There is still a distance between us and these easy-aloof and vulnerable, if good-hearted and happy blonde girl that seems to be more absorbed with their own trials and tribulations as our own.

The minute they discovered that real personal and economic Growth is beyond remain as the center of their universe and requires opening up and shooting like a comet into the orbits of the other, but more mundane life, Paris Hilton could be the next Oprah, in another sense.

I 'm not putting That beyond the possibility, generally underestimated Smarts of Paris Hilton. It is a real professional much sharper than most people give their loans. That is the reason why I think they will remain in our lives, in our living rooms, in our bookstores and our TV sets and podcasts for a long long time to come.

Who know one day even by the end of healing with us their own personal example as well, not only for what they do, only that they, like Oprah does (and is) on a daily basis. And that's a promise worth waiting for.

The Quick-Fire Killer (A Short Story)

There is one reason for most things, and it was a reason no one could catch the killer ... Let me correct that no body could killer long enough to secure him in a jail.

Bell Edwards Lynn, he was not Jessie James, but he nearly killed as many as Jessie did. Born in 1947 in Minnesota, wanted by the FBI since 1985, and no one had ever caught him, or kept him long enough for more than 18 months in each jail.

Why? This is the story of killer, his victims, and why has he never limited (and it is much truth with which this story) .

his motives for his killing spree, loose at best, but this is for you to decide , To me they were mostly not-all-what I call random. My name is Henry Lowell, I worked for the Bureau of Prisons, in Minnesota, where it all began many years ago, and refers to until today. And I asked him for a client once and only once, while working in a halfway house on his way to psychologists, together with the other forty customers, based on a work release program.

I worked in Minneapolis, in Lake Street, in the distant days, that is all I can say, and I worked there from 1978 to 1986, and then went into private practice.

Mr. Lynn, he was brought to the Halfway House for three months for pretrial wait to go to Court. That is, if I advise him. He wanted to bail-in between his heinous crimes he was from a 25-year-old girl, and this in 1984, he was 37 years old, then they were in their second day, she tried to avoid his sexual advances, parked in the city of St. Paul, with a view to the cliffs, a few hundred Fae hochlegen. Below the rocky terrain, and a bit further, the river Mississippi, and he threw them on: the alleged crimes at this time, and investigated, but he ran, and that is when it all started.

In February, 1995, approximately ten years later, he was discovered, allegedly, and I drove to Huntsville, Alabama to identify him, he was in the county jail on new charges, and I was the only one who had a picture of him next to the FBI, "Borrowed me , This time he was in prison for rape, witnesses saw him call a young girl to the car, and he shot them several times when they approached, but the day before, he had been put into prison under an alias name for this Raping girls, and had 18-months at the work farm. The next day he got his revenge.

By the time I got there, I identified him, and when they went to the court house, he escaped, like a fly ready to be swatted he was gone.

But this does not stop there, Im 1999, in Columbus, Ohio, in January, he shot a policeman after a dispute over a woman, he tried to rip off her fur coat. This time he escaped when the police showed up as if he were in his antennas head.

In June 2004 he was involved in a shooting by a male family member, nephew, in Portland, Oregon. They still do not know how he escaped, they were ready to handcuff him, and he disappeared like a flash. I mean, he did not really disappear, like a ghost, but with a blinking of the officer's eyes, he quickly made his escape, and all officers were several dumbfounded.

I had went to see Chief of Police, Marty Wheeler, and tell him what I thought was the problem, but he said: "We do not need psychologists, we must be vigilant police," and all seven of those officers on suspension for neglect of duty.

It was in 2006 , Falstaff, Arizona, in December, the next sighting of Bell came to his victim this time was an armored car guard, shot from outside a movie theater, witnesses said, it was said Bell, and after I looked at the video I had it has been confirmed, nor was I in private practice, but this case pursued me, and seemed to follow, and assumed a life of its own, and me. So I followed in any clue I ever got.

The last sighting was in San Francisco, May 2007, during a robbery, a tourist was shot, they thought the cameras had picked up a second-female-accomplice.

Well you might think that this was the end of the story, but it was not, I was in the FBI office and asked by one of the agents, "You once went to give some advice to this person's behaviour, which may help us catch him, Unfortunately, Chief of Police, Marty Wheeler does not care all that much, but we are ready to listen. I was later found that Wheeler had the FBI to ask me that question very embarrassing and he was grieving For the person shot in Falstaff, was his nephew.

I he explained in the following way that Agent Michael Bair, and his assistant, Richard Fitzgerald: "Bell is a peculiar man with extraordinary qualities that he can often be a step ahead of the aggressors, it is not a question of finding out where he is, or even the Fang of him, but to him, if he wants to be in a defensive mode. One of ten million people have this rare Well, if you read his IQ scores, and his army background, and so on and on, and the way he escapes, you come to the conclusion or contact sure what he , I urge quick-fire intelligence. As soon as he felt, he automatically and prepare a plan. He quickly calculated the position of the threat, and an escape plan, this all happened in 100 milliseconds-spotting by his aggressor, and thus, positions, body, arms, legs, the route he will take. It is not magic, but has a quick brain that processes sensory information faster than the average man can remember. So, as you try to subdue, or think what you to do next, he has already planned his movements before take-off, his body is able, he sees where the threat is worse, and the weakest points, this is the case, he is the second notice is approaching a risk, and now that he is a refugee, his skills are sharper, and he sees all bodies as a threat. He knows, somehow, large or small postural changes necessary, for his escape, he corrected his stance, as you stand in front of him. "

" Well, "said Agent Michael Bair," it all has to do with anticipation and flight? "

" something like this! "

" How would you propose for us to capture him? "asked his assistant.

" As I said, you seem to people around him, he escapes only next time you throw a net over him, "and that was the last time I heard of Bell or the FBI. But, white, it was only a year ago.

Advantages of Rural Life

Growing on a farm near a small town, I can not imagine a better life everywhere! We were a close knit family to spend all our waking hours together, work, play and pray together.

As I look back, the benefits far outweigh any disadvantage, I would encounter. Imagine living in the countryside 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

The work is hard, but met the opposition and weather can be unpredictable, the rain, where the planting and harvesting, making it difficult until the end of the work, and never be shown when the plants are in need, it can be quite frustrating !

There is no better feeling than plowing a field, planting crops and spend the summer caring for them to see they grow. The crop is harvested, together with the monetary rewards to the satisfaction of knowing that God and I were partners in the production of food for the world market eat.

Small city is a life the opportunity to care for the animals, help with their Birth, they grow, feed and nurse them back to health when one of them is sick. It is never a shortage of pets, from dogs and cats to horses, cows, sheep and even lambs.

Living and in a small rural environment, gives one the sense of community, each part of your family, the people are concerned about each other far more than if living in a large metropolis. Neighbours look out for each other, care for their property when away, and percentage of the everyday needs and desires of the individual other.

Crime is practically non-existent, with the neighbors, so close and involved, no stranger can go unnoticed. I remember while growing up, we never closed our doors! When it came time to sell the family farm, the house keys could not even be found!

As a child playing in the stream, with tadpoles, fish and turtles, you have little time to think about the lack of entertainment or excitement. The entire hood neighbouring cares about each other, children have a hard time in difficulty, people know each other for miles, no matter what they are trying to do, they know someone will see them. Her parents always find out what you have done, even before you remember home.

I feeling sorry for my cousins, lived in the city, I always felt they were not missing something with the life I had!

I Suppose the downside of life in a rural area would be the lack of shops and restaurants, but with the Internet you can shop from anywhere and have quality goods directly to your home by UPS.

The shortage of restaurants is by far offset by sampling some of Grandma 's cooking on a Sunday or on the local church festivals!

All in all, there is no better place for a child to grow than in a small rural area.

The Key (A Fairytale) - The Final Chapter (Part 4) A Promise to Keep

I resigned went back to my training, somewhat relieved, but in my heart, I knew that this whole episode with Weepasa was just my opinion, trying to squirm out of the inevitable - the constant vigilance, said he would required.

In time, I was able to see that these questions were not me, and there was basically nothing me or was controlled by me. It happens only because kamma. The contact with my senses and the momentum in the head just came and went like everything else in the universe, and subsequently from a previous state. If I only could the absolute experience, that the existence of the state in which I was not the result of something that had happened before - or the cause of something that happens in the most serious challenges were future.

The this incredible revelations and amazing understanding that emerged, Sun fleeting that if I do not immediately stop to think about what I have sometimes for days on end, they would vanish into thin air, and I could never return. It was some time before I started to their ability to disrupt my practice, and I learned to drop it as soon as they arise, regardless of how shaken heaven and earth they were. This practice, great insights that they instilled an understanding to demystify, subconscious level, allows the mind to go even lower. How deep he would go I had no idea, but I wanted key.

My the training was routine and as the months passed, I have more and more control than just the mind reacts and then the reactions have been observed. . . and as the years passed, I went deeper and deeper.

One night, it occurred to me that I had lost track of time. I knew that I had spent several years in Weepasa's compound, but could not remember if it was the fourth or fifth cold season. I decided not to think about it and went to sleep, woke up as usual.

I night usually a few minutes before the bell, and today was no exception, but as I started to practice, there was enough moonlight coming through my window Outline something sitting in the corner of my room. I lit a candle and was amazed to see the sorcerer's apprentices! What a surprise! My old friend was gone for so many years, and I wondered what brought him here. He never published, except for very important occasions.

There was a strange expression on his face that surprised me almost a pity. However, this was my first conversation with someone to year, and I was really looking forward to it. Little did I know how short the conversation wanted be.

The magician was looking down into the floor.

"What have I done wrong?" Asked.

He I looked at me, but the fire was out of his coal-black eyes. They were now strangely subdued, reflecting a deep compassion. "I have to do this with you for many lifetimes," he said, "and it does not get easier. Since you have so bravely fought with this quest for eons, it is difficult to say what to say."

His ominous words completely confused me, so I remained silent. . . as the sorcerer's apprentice destroyed my life.

"You'll never find the key, in this life," he said with finality. "There is no reason for you to waste a few years you have with this fruitless quest."

"What?" I could not understand what he just said. This could not, not after the next, to the extent and do my best. It was not possible at this late hour, that everything would be taken away from me, wasting my entire life.

Frightened stunned and I blurted out, "Are you fun? Is one of your stupid tricks?

I desperately wanted his eyes to the Search for some glimmer of hope, a kind of trick, some idea what was going on. I was shocked and confused.

The magician stood up, his face showing the resignation and profound understanding, as he prepared to leave.

"No "I begged." You can not just go on like this and let me here. What should I do? Please. . . Help me. "

" I'm really sorry. The dragon defeated. "And with this fatalistic statement, the magician disappeared.

I can not describe the feeling that the crushing impact. After years of intense internal work and thrift, these clear hit my head like a ton of bricks. I was devastated, broken . I had nothing. I was nothing. I knew nothing. Now I no longer cared if I was reborn in the world of form, pure form or no form. I do not care about everything. I just sat there with my head buried in my hands. Everything fell apart.

I someone felt my hand in her two small children, and when I saw there was Ariya. I could not help me and began to cry as she smiled at me like a Mother to her child smiling child. With tears streaming my weathered face, I said, "Ariya, I really thought that my key. I have tried so hard. Other men find it in a few years but I could not, so I believed you and spent my whole life trying with everything I had, without thinking about anything else. I followed my heart, as you have said and I followed my masters' instructions. Where did I go wrong? Request... At least tell me. "

She looked at me with sadness, in their dark, piercing eyes," Magician spoke the truth, my great king. You will never find the key, because as long as' you ', the Dragon of Atta holds the key safely hidden inside of you. You always feel you must constantly Focus attention on everything, and therefore the dragon grew stronger and stronger. You, "The King", will never leave the center. "The King", will never allow that 'you'. "

Her words pierced my heart like a dagger. I have it in my life's quest, and I could do nothing would change. I was defeated. The search for the key was finished, and without the return home, I was painfully alone, with nothing to go, nothing to hide, and I think that was a blank screen, like everything fell apart.
