Forget Paris, London and New York. Vancouver artists are not trying to compete with these international art hubs. They are not even playing at the same game. Vancouver art scene is innovative, because - at the moment - it is not an answer to. Vancouver art scene is doing what he wants, not from fear of coercion, not because of external influences and not even to appease financiers with a view to financial incentives. The best art is probably covered by a channeling of inner vision to something that is unique, genuine and fully representative of the artist and his /her intent and state of being.
