IGI And Family History Library - Some Tips On Finding Out Your Past!

The Church of Jesus Christ of LSD or the latter day saint has a family history library. This has more than 300,000 books, two million records in the form of microfilm and microfiche around 400000. There is also a collection of manuscripts as indexes, family and local histories and other documents in support of genealogical research.

This library has a varied collection of information from different countries such as China, Hungary, Chile and the Netherlands. But more emphasis is given to countries like America, Europe, Britain and Canada. With the archives of researchers can search the original documents of the ancestors.

When it comes to the amount of information it holds from the United States, it has several documents from court houses around the country and the regional and state records. The recordings with the census from 1790 and 1920 are also there.

The Family History Library is well known for his extensive knowledge and excellent support. One can to help the staff to make them throughout the search. Family Search computer system and the loan programs between the libraries are another two main sources, in almost all branches of this center of the world.

The International Genealogical Index (IGI)
