Lord Mayor of London Puts on Quite a Show

When I believe the Lord Mayor of London, I think of Dick Whittington and the history of my parents read to me like a child. I enjoyed the story, although all I really remember about this is that Dick Whittington was a Country Boy, is that the streets of London were paved with gold, so he decided to go into town to find Assets. He had a cat and some rotten luck, but it turned out, all rights at the end he was Lord Mayor of London, not just once or twice, but three times. It is the kind of triumph-in-the-face-of-adversity story, the children love.

Beyond Dick Whittington, I have not the position of the Lord Mayor of London much attention. A mayor is much the same as another, or so I thought. As it happens, the position is more important to Londoners, I imagine. After the official Lord Mayor of London map site, it was a mayor of London since 1189, when Henry Fitzailwyn was first appointed. In 1215, King John granted a charter, that the citizens of London to elect a Mayor of their choice. One of the provisions of the Charter, however, declares that the elected mayor must be approved by the ruling monarch and swear fealty to the crown. Thus began the tradition in which the newly elected mayor marches from the city to Westminster in a ceremony of pomp and increasing splendour.

The March has become so popular and well attended, so that there will be a major event in London, with many families They celebrate the day as the merging of past and present. More than half a million people for this opportunity, and millions more go to broadcast live from the comfort of their homes.

The day begins at 11.00 clock with a flypast by the RAF, after the march begins. After March, there are organized walks through the city's historic sights. The end of the day is with a large fireworks in 17:00.

A company Graenordnung this requires a large amount of planning, preparation and personnel to ensure that everything goes without a hitch. Last year more than 6000 people participated in the organization of the show, including 2000 women and soldiers, 200 vehicles and 24 marching bands. Most of the employees are outsourced from recruitment agencies, specializing in events and manual work, set up tents for example, waiters and casual and waitresses.

The next Lord Mayor's Show will take place on Saturday, 8 November, 2008. After the splendor of the past year, this year the show promises to be even more spectacular. The show has its official website two important advice for would-be revellers: not trying to go to the show, there is no parking, and the roads are closed in any case, and take advantage of the free walks, around the time between the end the procession and fireworks on 17:00.

So pack the children and grandparents and get there early to stake your place along the route, because, as the organisers promise there will be a day after remember.
